Eranos Counseling - Talking That Heals

Office: 215.629.8887

I am a licensed and certified Philadelphian Psychotherapist with over 28 years of experience. I have an interest in people and a commitment to helping and guiding my patients through their issues. Through my practice, Eranos Counseling, I am able to provide mental health counseling in a safe and welcoming atmosphere, and to create plans for my patients to help them achieve wholeness.

I am a United States Military veteran with a special understanding of PTSD. My philanthropic endeavors include the prestigious and world-renowned Curtis Institute of Music, a private conservatory admitting students on full scholarship based on artistic potential and promise alone; and the Philemon Foundation dedicated to the publication of the complete works of C. G. Jung. The Philemon Foundation has published "The Jung-White Letters,"and "Children's Dreams: Notes from the Seminar Given in 1936-1940." The much anticipated publication of Jung's "Red Book" happened on October 7, 2009. A major article about its publication and content appeared in the New York Times Magazine of September 20, 2009 and was entitled "The Holy Grail of the Unconscious." It was written by Sara Corbett.

Certification and Experience

I use the latest in treatment modalities, evidence-based therapies to help my clients discover their true Self. When appropriate, I utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), dream work, active imagination and sandplay.
The word "Eranos" derives from ancient Greek which is roughly translated as "a Shared Feast." C.G. Jung applied the word after he initiated a gathering of like-minded people to discuss a broad range of subjects related to the individual, psyche and culture. The first such gathering took place in the 1930s and continues to the present day on the shore of Lake Maggiore, near Ascona in southern Switzerland.

I chose the name to honor the spirit of analytic psychology's respect of the many manifestations of the psyche in the life of each individual, and the dynamic dialogue that exists between people engaged in a therapeutic process that contributes to the individuation and wholeness of participants: a shared feast.

Eranos Counseling is grounded in the belief that the most effective psychotherapy is carried on in that spirit of sharing. For in that spirit of sharing it is possible to experience Talking That Heals.

I treat issues including anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, domestic violence, trauma and PTSD, relationship issues, addiction and work-related problems. Please call for further details.
