I have been in practice since 1981, the year I earned a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in counseling. I hold a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in counseling psychology, earned in 1986. I also have advanced training from the Albert Ellis Institute (formerly the Institute of Rational Emotive Therapy) (1982-1985); post doctorate Jungian analytic training from the C.G. Jung Institutes of Minneapolis and Philadelphia (1993-1997), and modern psychoanalytic training from the Philadelphia School of Psychoanalysis (2002 – 2007). My treatment approach combines traditional talk therapy and other modalities like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania and certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) since 1984. Many of my referrals have come from Psychology Today. Eranos Counseling in Philadelphia offers a creative, compassionate, competent and Jungian oriented approach to psychotherapy, EMDR and sandplay for a variety of human problems. Those problems can include anxiety; depression; post traumatic stress resulting from a traumatic event like 911, exposure to results of natural disasters, or war. Relationships are wonderful, but can surface conflicts that require a therapist to help you understand and resolve. Sometimes those conflicts can include physical, sexual. and/or emotional abuse. Addictions to sex, gambling, drugs and alcohol are difficult to admit and troublesome to treat, but are not impossible to resolve with effort, commitment and appropriate support. Work related problems are frequent sources of stress and discontent in people's life, but these issues too can be worked through successfully in therapy. Job performance and satisfaction are enhanced when issues of hostility, envy, competition and fear are worked through in therapy. “If some of your old problems have not been resolved despite your best efforts, consider counseling. I have 20 plus years of experience and training to assist you. I practice in a safe and comfortable environment that helps you feel like you are talking to a good friend who listens. You can discuss difficult issues and talk about your feelings at your own pace without being judged or criticized. Make an appointment today and take the first step toward a better tomorrow." Competent, compassionate therapy for those problems
that have not gotten better. Historic District of Philadelphia
